Kevin Durant picks Michael Jordan as his USA Dream Team equivalent

Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant named Michael Jordan as the player he resembles from the 1992 Dream Team. Team USA is as stacked as most U.S. Olympic teams this year. Superstars, legends in the making and champions have all teamed up to try to win the country's 17th gold medal.

Durant has been part of the USA program for a long time, collecting three Olympic gold medals. He looks to win his fourth gold medal with his former teammate Steph Curry, longtime rival LeBron James and many more.

Since the 1992 Dream Team, every USA roster has been compared to the iconic roster. This time, Durant and the other players were asked to name a player they resemble from the legendary squad. KD didn't beat around the bush as he mentioned the GOAT as his player comparison.

Watch the video below to see Durant and the other stars give their answers.

Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum picked Larry Bird. Curry chose another Golden State Warriors legend, Chris Mullin, and referred to themselves as "two great shooters." KD's Suns teammate Devin Booker and Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards didn't compare themselves to anyone in respect to the former stars.

Team USA will resume action once the 2024 Olympics starts. Its first Olympic game will be against Serbia on Sunday.

Kevin Durant shared an advice for the 2024 NBA Rookie of the Year

Fans will get a chance to watch NBA stars suit up for their home country and try to win the gold medal. One player who fans are looking forward to seeing is Victor Wembanyama. It'll be his first appearance in the Olympic games, and he'll have the support of the fans since the entire event will take place in his home country, France.

Kevin Durant is also excited to see and possibly play against the French national team. Before everything gets started, the two-time NBA champion had some words of encouragement for Wemby in his first taste of the Olympics.

"As much as you can play on that big stage is going to help your confidence," Durant said (Timestamp: 13:04). "As much pressure as it is for him. They expect him to do a lot in the lineup now. All of that is good for you as a player and for your growth as a player and a person."

Team USA and France won't play against each other in the group rounds. However, many hope that the two teams will meet in the succeeding rounds for a chance to see a KD versus Wemby matchup.
