Kevin Durant shows appreciation for Drake & 50 Cent's Toronto link up
Team USA's preparation for the Olympic Games is in full swing but that hasn't stopped Kevin Durant remaining active on social media. The Phoenix Suns star took time out of his busy schedule to show some love to rappers Drake and 50 Cent. Durant posted an image of five-time Grammy Award winner Drake alongside New York rapper 50 Cent on his recent Instagram story.
The NBA star showed his appreciation for the rap duo by dropping two GOAT (greatest of all time) emojis. Drake and 50 Cent met up in Toronto, and while Durant is busy in London with the USA Men's National Team, he made it a point to shout out two of the most successful rappers in the business.
Durant and Drake have a close relationship that has only grown stronger over the years. They have shared several special moments together, some dating back over a decade.
Drake was in attendance at the 2012 NBA All-Star Game in Orlando and Durant gave a special mention to the musician on his X account after being named the game's MVP.
The Ontario born rapper is a regular at Toronto Raptors and has been seen going back and forth with Durant from his courtside seat on several occasions.
Durant said he was surprised and felt like he had "made it" after Drake dropped the two time NBA champion's name on his track "Weston Road Flows" back in 2016.
According to a recent piece from The Sporting News, Durant and Drake are working together on several projects and have invested in businesses together.
Spending some time on social media to unwind is fine, but Kevin Durant's focus will now shift to the Olympic Games. The 35-year-old will feature in the Olympics for the fourth-time (2012, 2016, 2020), and has a chance to become the first USA basketball player to win four gold medals.
Kevin Durant enjoyed Canada Day celebrations with Drake in his Toronto mansion
Earlier this month, Durant took some time off during the offseason to visit Drake in Ontario. The Suns star was spotted in Toronto hanging out at Drake's mansion, better known as "The Embassy."
Durant can be seen in the videos taking it easy in the back yard during the Canada Day celebrations. He even got to enjoy a fireworks display as the sun started to set.
