Kevin Durant stopped Warriors’ recruiting presentation 10 minutes in for a surprising reason: “I don’t need to see this stuff”
Bob Myers recently talked about what it was like recruiting Kevin Durant in 2016. Myers was once again invited to "97.5 The Game" to share some Golden State Warriors stories. He reminisced on what his experience was like trying to convince Durant to sign with the Warriors. Myers had a presentation containing the reasons why Durant should sign with Golden State.
Apparently, Kevin Durant didn't really care what Myers had to offer, as he had already set his mind to teaming up with the squad. After ten minutes of the pitch being presented, Durant interrupted Myers and told him to stop.
It was clear that the presentation wasn't necessary, as Durant wanted to play with the Warriors stars, their coach, and work with Myers.
"When we went to The Hamptons to meet with Kevin ... We had a presentation," Myers said. "We stopped it 10 minutes in. Because Keving was looking around like, 'I don't need to see this stuff.' That's reading the room."

Looking back at Kevin Durant's run with Golden State Warriors
In the 2016-17 season, Kevin Durant decided to join the Golden State Warriors and became the NBA's biggest villain. Before joining the Warriors, Durant played for the OKC Thunder and faced off against his future team in the 2016 Western Conference Finals. Durant and the Thunder squandered a 3-1 lead, which allowed the Warriors to advance to the Finals for a rematch with LeBron James' Cleveland Cavaliers.
Given all that history, Thunder and NBA fans alike were disappointed with Durant for joining the team that beat him. That resulted in one of the most heated rivalries in the league's history: Kevin Durant versus Russell Westbrook. It was a story between two long-time teammates and best friends who now turned into arch-enemies. Both superstars were at each other's necks when playing against the other.
Aside from making enemies, Durant became one of the most hated figures in the sport. Despite winning two championships with the Warriors, fans wouldn't acknowledge Durant's achievements. Everyone hated the fact that he won a couple of rings by taking the easy way out. It sounds awfully familiar to a story of a player who took his talents to South Beach.
Nevertheless, Durant was a beloved figure in Golden State, as he was able to bring home two trophies in a row. Suiting up for the Warriors, Durant averaged 25.8 points, 7.1 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 1.5 blocks per game. No matter what people say about him, nobody can deny that Durant did a lot of great things in the Bay area.
