KK Dixon, mother of Ja Morant's child, pens emotional message about motherhood - "Healed me in so many ways"
KK Dixon, the mother of Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant's child, shared a heartfelt Instagram post about her daughter that she paired with an emotional caption.
"So thankful for the life God has created for us .. truly always works out 🤍 being a mom has healed me in so many ways 🤍 I can't wait to continue making more memories with my baby girl," Dixon captioned her post.
Dixon and Morant welcomed their daughter, Kaari Jaidyn, on August 7, 2019. The pair announced their relationship back in 2018, but reportedly broke up in January 2023. Kaari is Morant's only child.
NBA champion offers support to Ja Morant ahead of 2024-25 season
Ja Morant is set to return to the Memphis Grizzlies' active player roster after appearing in just nine games during the 2023-24 season. In those nine games, Morant averaged 25.1 points, 8.1 assists and 5.6 rebounds per game.
On Tuesday's episode of NBA Today, 2016 NBA champion Richard Jefferson discussed which player he was most excited to see make a comeback in the 2024-25 season, and he offered high praise for Morant and the Grizzlies.
"I'm going to say Ja Morant, because [the Memphis Grizzlies were] a team that was trending upward. They were the Oklahoma City Thunder two seasons ago... This is a loaded roster that just needed to get healthy," Jefferson said.
Led by Morant, the Grizzlies posted back-to-back 50-plus win seasons in 2021-22 and 2022-23 before their lackluster 2023-24 campaign. Last season, the Grizzlies won just 27 games while their core — which consisted of Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr. and Desmond Bane — battled through injuries.
With their three stars set to return fully healthy in the upcoming season, Memphis will look to reestablish themselves as contenders in the Western Conference.
