Klay Thompson makes his feelings clear after beating Warriors at Chase Center
Klay Thompson and the Dallas Mavericks are riding high, bouncing back after a 118-104 loss versus the Oklahoma City Thunder to beat the Golden State Warriors on Sunday.
In his second game back at Chase Center since signing with Dallas in free agency, Thompson shined, setting a season-high in points. The Mavericks topped the Warriors 143-133 to cap off a four-game road trip.
After the game, Thompson reflected on his second homecoming to Chase Center and looked to motivate his team.
"Felt great," Klay said regarding his performance. "I've had a great history of shooting the ball here, so I try to tap into that every time I come back. Man, I want (30 points). 30 sounds so much better, but that's life. We'll take a win."
Klay Thompson finished with a season-high 29 points, 14 of which came in the fourth quarter, on efficient 9-of-14 shooting. He connected on seven of his 11 3-pointers, another season-high.
The 34-year-old forward is putting together vintage performances, averaging 22.6 points, shooting 54% from the field and 50% from beyond the arc. The veteran forward sent a message to his team after the win.
"(This win) feels so good, but we want to keep this thing going. Let's get another win streak going."
Klay Thompson buried two free throws in the game's final minute to help Dallas clinch the win over his former team.
