Kwame Brown fires back at Gilbert Arenas: “I don’t wanna talk about that guy, after he mentioned putting a pistol to my throat"

Gilbert Arenas and Kwame Brown shared the court for two seasons during their time with the Washington Wizards. There was no love lost between the two in those seasons.

Appearing recently on "The Pivot Podcast," Brown was asked about his feud with Arenas. The former NBA forward said he had no interest in talking about Arenas. He also brought up the fact that Arenas threatened to shoot him in the past.

“I don’t wanna talk about that guy, after he mentioned putting a pistol to my throat … He’s definitely what’s wrong with our community, because he’s a coward … Do you think Gilbert Arenas would say that about J.J. Redick?”

Kwame Brown was drafted first overall in 2001 by the Wizards. Brown looked to have all the tools to succeed, but struggled to make it count. He is widely considered one of the biggest misses in NBA draft history when it comes to first overall picks.

Brown and Arenas were teammates during the 2003-04 and 2004-05 seasons. During those two seasons, Brown averaged 9.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists. He would eventually move on to play for a number of different teams throughout his 12 years in the NBA.

Kwame Brown was originally slated to play for the University of Florida. That was until he decided to put his name in the 2001 NBA draft. At the time, the Washington Wizards had Michael Jordan, who was the team president. Brown went on to become the first selection under Jordan's watch.

After failing to live up to expectations, Brown has been vocal about calling out those who may have doubted him throughout his career. Former teammate Gilbert Arenas too has never been shy to voice his opinion, and the two have had beef in recent years.
