Kyrie Irving and ANTA set to release new ANTA KAI 1 ‘Playoffs White’ colorway via KICKS CREW ahead of postseason
Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving is set to release an all-new colorway of his ANTA KAI 1 shoes ahead of he and the Dallas Mavericks’ first-round matchup with the LA Clippers. Ahead of the start of the series later this week, a press release sent to Sportskeeda’s Evan Bell via KICKS CREW has indicated that the ANTA KAI 1 ‘Playoffs White’ colorway will be released on Apr. 19.
The release, of course, comes on the heels of Irving releasing the ANTA KAI 1 ‘Enlightened Warrior’ earlier this month amid the race to the postseason. The new colorway may look familiar to fans, as the Dallas Mavericks star had previously worn them earlier this season.
Late last year, it was announced that Kyrie Irving would be joining KICKS CREW as an equity shareholder. In addition, he was also named Chief Community Officer of the company, with the deal coming fresh off Irving and ANTA announcing their partnership.
The latest iteration of the eight-time All-Star’s signature shoe draws inspiration from the Mavericks’ white and blue jersey color, while a gold accent highlights the side of the shoes. The gold accent is also seen on the tongue, where Irving’s logo is seen in the same color.
As explained in the previously mentioned press release, the gold accent on the shoes represents Kyrie Irving’s championship aspirations. After helping lead the Cavaliers to an NBA title in 2016, Irving will now look to help the Dallas Mavericks raise their first banner since the 2011 season. This too is represented in the shoe:
“Crafted with an aerodynamic design that mirrors Kyrie Irving’s gravity-defying movements and crossovers, the KAI 1 will now be in the playoff spotlight.”
Looking at the details of Kyrie Irving’s signature ANTA KAI 1 ‘Playoffs White’ shoe
Kyrie Irving’s all-new ANTA KAI 1 ‘Playoffs White’ colorway will come with much of the same technology as previous colorways of the shoe. This, of course, includes the recently released Enlightened Warrior colorway.
The first performance detail that catches the eye is the forefoot lockdown strap, which offers users a customizable fit around the midfoot to ensure the sneakers fit appropriately regardless of foot shape. A TPU Sidewall features complimentary support in order to achieve maximum lockdown.
A carbon fiber midfoot plate also ensures torsional rigidity along with providing an energy return. At the same time, the shoe also features a Nitroedge Midsole Cushion which not only helps with the overall weight of the shoe but also enhances comfort for long-term play.
The ANTA KAI 1 shoes will be available for purchase on KICKSCREW.com for $125 USD on Apr. 19 at 12:00 p.m. ET (9 a.m. PT). In the meantime, fans can also head to KICKS CREW’s site to sign up for notifications about purchase details once the shoes go on sale.
The Mavericks will then begin their playoff series with the LA Clippers the following morning, with tip-off scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Pacific (3:30 p.m. ET). Leading up to the playoffs, Kyrie Irving opened up on the team’s recent success after early struggles late last year.
As he explained to media members earlier this month after a win over the Utah Jazz:
“It has taken time to build. We’ve had to be patient. We’ve had to build through adversity and also some of our failures. That has been the beautiful aspect of it. Through our struggles, we’ve been able to come out on the other side and see some glimmer of the light and turn it into wins.”
Between he and the team’s success on the court, and the new Playoffs White ANTA KAI 1 shoes expected to be a success, everything is coming together for the longtime NBA star.
