Kyrie Irving names two popular streamers who inspired him to enter the streaming world

Kyrie Irving has been streaming since 2022, amassing nearly 188K followers on his platform despite his back-and-forth with it. Irving joins a list of NBA players who became streamers, including Karl-Anthony Towns, Ben Simmons and Devin Booker.

The 2016 NBA champion recently revealed who prompted him to begin streaming. A short social media clip shows Irving crediting Kai Cenat and YourRage as the streamers who inspired him to open his channel.

"Who you guys wanna see on stream, by the way?" Irving asked his viewers. "I gotta have some people that I could put on stream. Other streamers.
"Definitely shout out 'YRG,' YourRage, Kai [Cenat]... Kai and YourRage were definitely the ones to kinda introduce me into this world. It seems like they've taken over this whole streaming world. They're doing their thing and I don't wanna not mention any other streamers that are doing their thing, too. Shout out to all you guys."

Kai Cenat said Kyrie Irving got him tickets to the NBA Finals

The Dallas Mavericks star took a hiatus from Twitch in 2023 because he didn't like how the platform treated his friend. Many felt Irving was referring to Cenat, who was banned then by Twitch.

The relationship between Cenat and Irving has grown over the years. Ahead of the 2024 NBA Finals, the 22-year-old streamer said Irving gave him tickets to Game 1 of the series.

"Kyrie has invited me to the finals," Kai Cenat said. "And he's setting me up some tickets for the finals. My boy, Kyrie. Bro, I spoke to Kyrie and he's setting me up for the Finals."

Kyrie Irving is preparing for a new NBA season with the retooled Mavericks after losing in the NBA Finals against the Celtics in July.
