LA Lakers vs Memphis Grizzlies injury report: Game 6 2023 Playoffs round-1 (April 28, 2023)
The injury report for Game 6 of the series between the Memphis Grizzlies and the LA Lakers largely remains the same. Los Angeles listed Anthony Davis, LeBron James and Dennis Schroder as probable on Friday night.
Davis is on the list due to a right foot stress injury while James is included due to a sore right foot. Dennis Schroder is also dealing with right Achilless soreness.
The three have had the same status on the Lakers' injury report since Game 1. Davis, James, and Schroder have not missed a game in the series, though.
The Memphis Grizzlies, on the other hand, will continue to miss Brandon Clarke, Steven Adams and Jake LaRavia. Luke Kennard has been added to the team's injury report due to left shoulder soreness.
Clarke suffered an Achilles injury in March in a game against the Denver Nuggets. He has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
Adams has been on the Memphis Grizzlies' injury report since January. The team announced in April that he will be sidelined for the rest of the playoffs.
Kennard suffered a stinger on his left shoulder in Game 5 and didn't return. He was reportedly limited in practice heading into Friday's matchup. Memphis' training staff will keep a close watch on him during the morning shootaround and in pregame warmups.
LA Lakers Lineup and Memphis Grizzlies Lineup
Outside of the players on the injury report, the LA Lakers and Memphis Grizzlies are likely to use the same players for Game 6.
With Brandon Clarke and Steven Adams in street clothes, the Grizzlies have been playing undermanned even before the playoffs started. Against the Lakers, they've inserted hardworking big man Xavier Tillman into the starting unit.
Jaren Jackson Jr., Ja Morant and Desmond Bane have guaranteed spots in the starting five. Dillon Brooks, normally a starter, might have to come off the bench for coach Taylor Jenkins.
Brooks has struggled throughout the series. He is averaging 10.6 points on 30.3% shooting, including a ghastly 21.6% from behind the arc. The Grizzlies made a big run, bridging the third and fourth quarters of Game 5 after Jenkins pulled out Brooks.
Memphis' enforcer may no longer be a shoo-in to start Game 6.
Meanwhile, Darvin Ham is expected to stick with his regular starting unit on Friday night. LeBron James and Anthony Davis may be on the injury report, but they're guaranteed to line up for tip off.
Austin Reaves, D'Angelo Russell and Jarred Vanderbilt will complete Ham's opening unit.
Rui Hachimura, who has had a superb series until Game 5, will come off the bench. Dennis Schroder, Malik Beasley, Troy Brown Jr., and Wenyen Gabriel are usually Ham's most trusted bench players.
