LA Lakers vs Memphis Grizzlies player stats and box score (Nov. 6) | 2024-25 NBA season

The LA Lakers lost 131-114 to the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday without Anthony Davis. AD participated in pregame warmups but was ruled out due to a left heel injury. Jaxson Hayes started the game in his place.

LeBron James had another impressive performance, finishing with 39 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Cam Reddish, who had his best game of the season, contributed 15 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals.

The Grizzlies earned the win behind contributions from across the roster. Jaren Jackson Jr., Ja Morant and rookie Jaylen Wells had 20 points apiece. Memphis' bench also showed up, outscoring its LA counterpart 52-33.

LA Lakers vs Memphis Grizzlies: Game summary

Without the NBA’s leading scorer, D’Angelo Russell hummed early with nine points for the visitors. Austin Reaves and LeBron James contributed with six points apiece. Dalton Knecht, who got his first start, added three.

Meanwhile, the Grizzlies leaned on a balanced attack led by Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. combined for 14 first-quarter points. Memphis owned a 35-27 lead after one quarter.

"King James" came alive in the second quarter to carry the Lakers. He scattered 16 points in the period to finish with 22 in the first half. LA badly needed him to score as the bench could only contribute five points in the first 24 minutes.

The Memphis Grizzzlies' balanced offense continued in the second quarter. Morant, Jackson and Aldama combined for 33 points while the bench added 13. The hosts had a 59-53 lead at halftime.

LeBron James’ sizzling play continued in the third quarter. He added nine points and two assists to his tally. The four-time MVP, however, had very little support as the Grizzlies pushed their lead to 95-81 after the end of the third quarter.

Ja Morant matched James with eight points and two assists to lead the hosts’ surge. Morant got plenty of help from his teammates as the Grizzlies took a stranglehold of the game.

The LA Lakers, behind James, had a handful of mini runs in the fourth quarter, but the Memphis Grizzlies held firm. JJ Redick emptied his bench with a little over four minutes remaining. Morant and Co. improved to 5-4 following their 131-114 win. LA dropped to 4-4 after another loss.
