How has Julius Randle played for the Knicks this season?
Julius Randle is one of the best forwards in the league right now. Without him, the Knicks wouldn't be in the playoff race this season. He's done an exceptional job in leading New York to another shot at becoming a legitimate playoff squad. Of course, he didn't carry the entire team by himself, but Randle has played a huge part in their success this season.
Prior to this season, there's been doubts about how legit of a star Randle is. Last season, the forward averaged 20.1 ppg, 9.9 rpg and 5.1 apg while making 41.1% of his shots from the field and 30.8% of his shots from deep. Those numbers were lower than what he had during the 2020-21 NBA season.
For this year's campaign, The 6-foot-9 forward is averaging 25.2 ppg, 10.3 rpg and 4.1 apg. He's also making 45.7% of his shots from the field and 34.1% of his 3-pointers. Randle's numbers this season have probably been the best of his career.
With his production on the floor, he's able to lead the Knicks to a 42-30 record, which is good enough for the fifth spot in the Eastern Conference standings. With him on the floor, New York could make some noise in the postseason and give other teams some serious trouble.
