LaMelo Ball Stats Tonight: How did Hornets star fare against brother Lonzo Ball and Bulls? (Jan. 17)

LaMelo Ball went head to head against his brother Lonzo Ball as the Charlotte Hornets took on the Chicago Bulls on Friday. The Hornets are coming from a 117-112 win over the Utah Jazz on Wednesday. LaMelo had a solid game, posting 27 points, nine assists, six rebounds and three blocks. The younger Ball looked to replicate that performance against his older brother.

However, the first quarter wasn't one of LaMelo Ball's good starts. Ball was ice cold on the hardwood, sinking only one out of seven shot attempts. Carrying the Charlotte Hornets was Seth Curry, who helped his team secure the lead in the opening period.

In the second quarter, Ball was able to pick up the pace and scored eight points. Helping the Hornets secure a two-point lead over the Bulls by the end of the first half were Miles Bridges and Nick Smith Jr.

Come the third quarter, LaMelo Ball picked up the pace and scored nine more points. He also played solid defense after securing a couple of steals. However, the Chicago Bulls managed to take the lead by the end of the third.

Ultimately, the Charlotte Hornets came out on top with a nail-biting 125-123 victory. Despite his cold start to the game, LaMelo was the Hornets’ top scorer as he carried his Hornets with 26 points.

Hornets vs Bulls recap: LaMelo Ball wins it for Charlotte

The Charlotte Hornets took on the Chicago Bulls on Friday night. It was a battle between the Ball brothers as LaMelo Ball went up against his older brother Lonzo Ball. Unfortunately for the older brother, it was his little brother LaMelo who came out on top as he carried his Hornets to a 125-123 victory.

LaMelo had a cold start to his game as he went one for seven from the field in the opening period. However, he was able to make up for his lackluster performance on offense and ended up becoming his team’s best scorer. Ball added 26 points, nine assists and two steals to lead his team to victory.

Miles Bridges and Mark Williams assisted LaMelo Ball in winning the game. Williams had a monstrous double-double outing, adding 19 points and 19 rebounds. As for Bridges, he was the only other Hornets player notching 20+ points with a tally of 21.
