Larsa Pippen reacts after son Scotty Pippen Jr. delivers terrific double-double performance vs. Bulls

Larsa Pippen reacted to her son Scotty Pippen Jr.'s impressive performance in the Memphis Grizzlies' narrow 126-123 loss to the Chicago Bulls on Monday. With Ja Morant out, Pippen Jr. took full advantage of extra minutes, making a strong impact off the bench.

The former Lakers point guard energized the Grizzlies' offense, both scoring and setting up teammates with his solid playmaking skills. The undrafted Vanderbilt guard finished with 14 points on 6 of 13 shooting, including 2 of 4 from beyond the arc.

Playing with intensity on both ends of the floor, Pippen Jr. filled the stat sheet with four rebounds, 10 assists, one steal and one block, committing just one turnover in 30:41 minutes.

Larsa Pippen was impressed by her son’s efforts and she shared a screenshot of a post complimenting the Memphis point guard on her Instagram story. Larsa reacted with three "fire" emojis, celebrating Pippen Jr.'s performance even though it didn’t translate into a win for Memphis.

Larsa is Pippen Jr.’s biggest supporter, frequently praising her son’s efforts and achievements on the basketball court through posts on her Instagram. Pippen Jr. is Larsa’s eldest son with Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen.

Scotty Pippen Jr. recently signed multiyear contract with Grizzlies

The Memphis Grizzlies signed Scotty Pippen Jr. to a four-year contract in the offseason, rewarding him for his consistent performances with the team in both the NBA and the 2024 Summer League.

His mother Larsa was thrilled with her son’s achievement. In response to the news, she expressed her pride and congratulated Pippen Jr. on her Instagram story the day he signed the deal.

The Grizzlies entrusted Pippen Jr. with a multiyear contract, positioning him as the backup point guard to superstar Ja Morant.

So far, the young floor general has met expectations, averaging 11.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 8.3 assists and 1.5 steals across the first four games. Pippen Jr. is shooting an impressive 51.4% from the field on 8.8 attempts per game, including 50.0% from beyond the arc.

The former Vanderbilt star gained the trust of the Grizzlies’ front office and teammates with his strong performance last season. Pippen Jr. appeared in 21 games during the 2023-24 season, averaging 12.9 points on 49.3% shooting, including 41.7% from beyond the arc. He also contributed 3.2 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.7 steals per game.
