LaVar Ball predicts his grandson to have more impressive NBA draft than LaMelo and Lonzo Ball
There's a new member in the Ball family, and LaVar Ball has already predicted his grandson will be better than his sons, Lonzo and LaMelo Ball. They welcomed a baby boy, who's the son of LiAngelo. Their father wasted no time in predicting how his grandchild would take over in the world of basketball.
The father of the two NBA point guards broke into the scene while his sons were still in high school, hyping his sons as future great stars. Now, Ball has decided to do the same for his grandson, who he thinks will be the No. 1 pick when the time comes.
"This how it goes, don't let that happen again. No. 1 pick right here, trust me when I tell you. Triple Bs finna run loose," Ball said.
Ball's strategy helped his sons have amazing careers in the league.
For Lonzo, he was selected as the second pick in 2017 with the LA Lakers. The eldest among LaVar's sons became an instant fan favorite before moving on to the New Orleans Pelicans and Chicago Bulls. Now, he's ramping up his return to action after missing two seasons due to injury.
His last son, LaMelo, lived up to the hype. He's the future of the Charlotte Hornets and was named an All-Star in his second season. However, injuries have held him back. He's yet to lead the franchise to a playoff appearance since they drafted him.

LaVar Ball on his sons' injuries
There have been problems for the Ball brothers in terms of staying healthy over the past few seasons. It's been a problem for the Hornets and the Bulls as both players are the starting point guards for each team. However, LaVar Ball isn't worried about his sons' current state. He shared in April how he feels about his sons' injuries.
"Well, mentally, they got a strong mindset," LaVar said. "They Balls. So, they're going to come back. They're going to rehab. They're going to do their thing."
When it comes to pointing the finger, LaVar Ball blames the conditioning that his sons are getting in the league.
"Because you condition your body for running and jumping," Ball said. "You've got to condition your legs. So, that's why I always have my boys in them hills and running hard in them hills. That will make you run like a deer when you get on that court, so you won't be getting hurt.
"A lot of things have to do with them raggedy shoes that Melo be wearing. Them shoes are not made the right way for him. That's why he keeps tweaking his ankle every single time."
A comeback for the two guards is expected for the 2024-25 NBA season.
