"LeBron, Harden, Jordan, Westbrook, Oscar"- Chris Broussard urges Mark Cuban to find Luka Doncic another superstar before it's too late
Luka Doncic finally got a great sidekick in Kyrie Irving. The Dallas Mavericks traded several valuable players for Irving before the trade deadline in February, but they haven't achieved good results since then.
Doncic and Irving simply haven't worked out together. The situation is so bad that the Mavs (38-42) are fighting to get to the play-in tournament. NBA insider Chris Broussard believes that the 6-foot-7 guard simply needs to figure out how to play with other superstars.
Doncic is a fantastic player who would be in MVP conversation if it wasn't for the Mavs' horrible record. However, his brief partnership with his co-star has been unproductive so far. Dallas is 7-16 since Feb. 11.
Luka Doncic cannot be a one-man show in Dallas
From a statistical perspective, both Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving are amazing players. They both score a lot of points and are great when it comes to ball distribution. However, the combination has struggled to win games.
Chris Broussard, on "First Things First," talked about how the two superstars simply don't function well with each other.
"What they need to do is figure out a way for Luka to play with superstars," he said. "Right now, it's my turn, your turn. That's what it is between him and Kyrie."
The NBA analyst gave one example. On Wednesday night against the Sacramento Kings, Kyrie Irving was mostly passive in the first half and it was Doncic who led the scoring charge.

Luka had 29 points by the fourth quarter, while his backcourt partner had 12. However, Irving finished with a game-high 31 points, while Doncic was scoreless in the closing period.
In fact, the Slovenia native took only two shots in the quarter.
Broussard also pointed out how none of the all-time great players were able to win all on their own. They had to adjust their game in order to win championships.
"They got to figure out how to incorporate Luka into offense that is not just based around him," the analyst added. "Because LeBron, Harden, Jordan, Westbrook, Oscar, none of them could win championships just as a one-man show."
Doncic is arguably a much better player than Irving. However, he will have to change something about his game in order to win games with the former NBA champion.
Luka Doncic is under contract through the summer of 2027, which is why Broussard doesn't think the Dallas Mavericks should make any panic moves at the moment.

Considering that owner Mark Cuban intends to re-sign Irving, it will be interesting to see how the two superstars play together next year. However, Cuban might need to figure out a way to get another star if Doncic and Irving don't achieve any success.
