LeBron James opens up about missing several Lakers games

LeBron James, just 10 days shy of his 40th birthday, has lost some of the explosiveness that once defined his athleticism. After missing consecutive games for the LA Lakers, fans have grown concerned about his condition.

He returned to the court on Sunday, helping the Lakers secure a 116-110 win over the Memphis Grizzlies. After the game, James spoke with reporters, revealing the reason behind his absence.

"If it was up to just me, I probably would've played," James said. "It would've been hard to keep me away from it. I have a team and I got to listen to them as well. They look out for my best interest."
"I had an opportunity to take more days and get my mind, body and everything where I wanted it to be for tonight and it worked out."

LeBron James, in his 22nd NBA season, averages 22.6 ppg, 7.9 rpg and 9.0 apg.
