LeBron James celebrates Bronny James' 20th birthday with stunning custom Lakers themed cake
LeBron James and his entire family are celebrating Bronny James' 20th birthday on October 6. It appears like everything is coming at the right time for the James family as there is a chance that the LA Lakers star might share the court with his son Bronny on his 20th birthday.
LeBron took to his social media to wish his son a happy birthday. He posted a picture of the father-son duo posing for the camera on the Lakers Media Day.
"HBD young [king]. Love you," James wrote in the story.
However, it was the video of the cake that the four-time NBA champion posted on his story that drew attention. The video on his IG story showed a Lakers-themed cake with everything in purple and gold. The cake also had the Lakers logo designed on it.
If LeBron James takes the court with his son against the Phoenix Suns, it will be a historical moment. They will become the only father and son to share the court in the NBA history.
The birthday wishes for Bronny James poured in from everyone. His mother Savannah James and grandmother Gloria James also sent heartfelt messages for him on social media.
LeBron James gives his first impression of watching Bronny James play in Lakers jersey
The LA Lakers faced the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first game of the preseason. While LeBron James and Anthony Davis did not take the court, Bronny took the court for the first time as a part of the Lakers team.
The eldest son of the Lakers star played 16 minutes in the game and scored two points, converting just one of six shots he took from the field. However, he showed life on the defensive end of the floor with three blocks.
When James was asked about his first impression of watching his son play in the preseason, he said that it was too early to give his judgment.
"I mean it's the first game," LeBron replied. "We've got three practices on our belt, today makes four. I think for Bronny, for everybody, we want to continue to try to get better and better. You know it's always great to get things going, to see what we need to work on, to see ways we can continue to be better. It was great to see Bronny out there, it was great to see JJ [Redick]."
The Lakers are scheduled to play a second preseason game today. The team will face the Phoenix Suns at Acrisure Arena. After sitting out in the first preseason game, LeBron James is ready to take the court against the Suns. If he plays today, fans have the potential to witness a historic moment, if he takes the court with son Bronny.
