LeBron James celebrates gambling win with subtle reaction
LeBron James is not just winning on the court, but also off the court. The LA Lakers superstar helped extend their winning streak to three by scoring 32 points against the Sacramento Kings on Saturday. He also went 3-for-3 on his football picks for Sunday night.
In a post on his Instagram stories, "The King" shared a DraftKings announcement about him hitting his 3-leg parlay. He partnered with the gambling company back in January to share his football picks of the week. He even had a commercial with Kevin Hart to promote it ahead of the 2024 NFL season.
James reacted to going 3-for-3 by sharing three emojis – the shrug, smiling face and football.
LeBron James' picks for Week 16 was touchdown extravaganza. He correctly predicted that Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings, James Cook of the Buffalo Bills and Chuba Hubbard of the Carolina Panthers would all have scored touchdowns on Sunday.
Jefferson had two receiving touchdowns in the Vikings' 27-24 win over the Seattle Seahawks. Cook had one rushing touchdown as the Bills defeated the New England Patriots 24-21. Hubbard had two rushing touchdowns in the Panthers' thrilling 36-30 victory against the Arizona Cardinals in overtime.
James is a huge fan of the NFL and has been in a handful of games over the years. He's even a good player on its popular video game series, Madden, which he plays even during the NBA season.
In addition to being a fan of the sport, the four-time champ played it in high school and was considered a prospect before focusing on basketball. He contemplated playing in the NFL during the 2011 NBA lockout, receiving tryout offers from the Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks.
Carmelo Anthony doesn't believe LeBron James will get traded by the LA Lakers
There were rumors last season that the Golden State Warriors were interested in acquiring LeBron James from the LA Lakers. However, James' agent and Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul immediately shut it down though there are still persistent rumblings this season.
Speaking on his "7PM in Brooklyn" podcast, Carmelo Anthony believes the window to trade James has closed. Anthony explained that "The King" is always in control, and if he wanted to get traded, he would have been already traded.
"LeBron makes the trades, so if he wants to get traded, he'll get traded," Anthony said, according to Lakers News. "I think that window closed shut. Like it was a point in time, maybe last year or little bit of time ago, where it was like, there was a thought that 'Damn, this could be possibility.'"
The Lakers are in a better position to compete at the moment than the Warriors, but Golden State has the assets to make a big move at the trade deadline.
