LeBron James claims Bronny is better than some of NBA players, fans speculate he is talking about Grant Williams - “S**t lightweight hilarious”
LeBron James recently hyped up his son Bronny on Twitter. While tweeting about the quality of basketball in the NBA, the LA Lakers superstar claimed that his son was better than some of the players in the league.
LeBron James has become quite an active presence on social media since going down with injury. After a rather interesting tweet about his dream matchup against Michael Jordan, James followed up with yet another intriguing thought.
The Lakers superstar is known to be a huge fan of his sons, Bronny and Bryce. The two often feature on LeBron's social media stories whenever they play.
With all the hype already surrounding Bronny, James decided to add to it with an interesting comment. Following NBA action on Monday night, LeBron tweeted:
"Man Bronny definitely better than some of these cats I've been watching on league pass today. Shit lightweight hilarious."
Bronny is undoubtedly a top-quality prospect at the moment. As a senior in high school, Bronny James has shown immense potential and skill to play at the next level. With several university programs pursuing him, Bronny is also viewed as a potential top 10 pick in future NBA drafts.
LeBron's claim certainly appears biased in many ways. However, some fans speculate that James' comments have more to do with Boston Celtics forward Grant Williams.
Williams is an essential role player in the Celtics' system. However, the forward made a crucial error in the final moments of the game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
With 0.8 seconds left on the clock, Williams had the opportunity to ice the game at the free-throw line. Unfortunately, the forward ended up missing both.
To make matters worse, Williams was seen talking trash to Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell right before missing his free throws.
Williams has obviously become the object of ridicule for his late-game misgivings. LeBron's comments certainly sting a lot more when viewed in this context. However, the intent behind it remains speculation.
With Bronny in mind, the young King has a long way to go. Still coming into his own as a player, the basketball world will keep a close eye on his growth.
LeBron James hopes to play with Bronny in the NBA
LeBron James' intentions of playing with his son Bronny in the NBA are well-documented at this point. While it is wild to say that James is practically manufacturing Bronny's arrival in the NBA, it isn't such a far-fetched notion.
Bronny has systematically been groomed to make it to the league. Given his skillset, style of play and overall exposure, Bronny James has all the right tools to succeed.
Although Bronny is a year or so away from being eligible to be in the NBA draft, LeBron James also seems willing to play longer to make this happen. At the age of 38, James remains an absolute force of nature.
Given his sheer longevity, the notion of watching LeBron and Bronny playing together seems more than likely. However, this may be brought into question given his recent run-ins with injury.
