LeBron James claims he could get a podium finish for USA in two track and field events: "Need my six months, eight months or whatever"

LeBron James is one of the best all-around athletes in the NBA today. James has raised curiosity from fans over what his athletic career could have looked like outside of basketball and received praise for his potential as a football player.

On the latest episode of "The Shop," shot while LeBron James was in Paris for the 2024 Olympics, the Lakers star was asked if he felt there were any Olympic events he could compete in besides basketball.

"Compete in, like, how much time are you going to give me?" LeBron questioned (4:22 mark). "Maybe the long jump. I think I could do the long jump, maybe, or the high jump. If you give me some time. I need about six months, eight months, or whatever, preparation to get to that."

When asked if a podium finish could be expected, LeBron said:

"Yeah, I'm a only-podium guy"

LeBron James offers support to family of NHL star following his untimely passing

The Columbus Blue Jackets released a statement early Friday morning on the unfortunate passing of Johhny Gaudreau. Gaudreau and his brother Matthew were reportedly struck by a suspected drunk driver while bicycling in New Jersey on Thursday evening and were both killed in the accident.

The suspected driver who caused the brothers' unfortunate and untimely passing has been detained and is in police custody.

Lakers star LeBron James was among those to offer his condolences to the Gaudreau brothers and their family on Friday, taking to X to show support.

"Insane man," James tweeted. "I instantly got so down and sad after reading the story. My thoughts and prayers goes out to the Gaudreau family! May Johnny and Matthew fly high, guide/guard their family/s from the heavens above."

Gaudreau turned 31 on Aug. 13 and was set to enter his 12th NHL season, his third with the Columbus Blue Jackets. Gaudreau is survived by his wife, Meredith, and their two kids.
