LeBron James' friend calls out Lakers owner Jeanie Buss over Anthony Davis' burden: "Got her legs crossed showing the yams"
Cuffs The Legend, a basketball coach and trainer from North Carolina who is part of LeBron James’ inner circle alongside Rich Paul and Maverick Carter, criticized LA Lakers owner Jeanie Buss on Tuesday for her lack of action to support Anthony Davis and her social media activity.
Buss sparked backlash from Lakers fans on X (formerly Twitter) when she posted the cover of her 2010 book “Lakers Girl,” which she co-authored with award-winning sports journalist Steve Springer, promoting it on social media.

One particularly upset user was Cuffs The Legend, who called out Buss for focusing on personal projects rather than addressing the Lakers' urgent need for a frontcourt partner for Davis.
“Lakers don’t have a legit center and they’re getting destroyed on the glass every night because it’s just Anthony Davis trying to do everything defensively plus score 25-30 pts every night and the owner got her legs crossed showing the yams on Twitter like everything is peaches & cream,” he tweeted.
“You cannot make this s**t up man 🤣🤣💀.”
The Lakers currently hold a 22-28 record but are 5-5 in their last 10 games. They rank fourth worst in the league for rebounding percentage and third lowest in rebounds per game.
Other than Anthony Davis, who averages 11.8 rebounds per game, no other Lakers player hits double-digit rebounds. LeBron James follows with 7.4, Rui Hachimura with 5.2 and guard Austin Reaves with 4.2.
The backup centers on the Lakers roster, Jaxson Hayes and Christian Koloko, are both ranked outside the top 10 on the team for rebounding.
LeBron James says Lakers have to play nearly perfect with current roster
After the Lakers’ 116-102 loss to the LA Clippers earlier this week, LeBron James addressed the team’s roster construction, emphasizing that they need to play near-perfect basketball to secure victories.
“That's how our team is constructed. We don't have room for error," James said postgame. "We don't have a choice. That's the way our team is constructed... We have to play close to perfect basketball."
The Lakers made a trade in December, sending out D’Angelo Russell, Maxwell Lewis and second-round picks to acquire Dorian Finney-Smith and Shake Milton.
