LeBron James gives his verdict on son Bronny James after LA rookie's back-to-back solid games: "The best will continue to come"
LeBron James is currently with Team USA preparing for the upcoming Paris Olympics. Amid all the practice, travelling and exhibition games, the 4-time NBA MVP is keeping a close eye on his son Bronny James' performance in the ongoing NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.
Bronny James didn't have the best of starts to his Summer League career. The LA Lakers rookie endured a couple of bad outings to begin the campaign.
The No.55 draft pick came out of his slump during the Lakers' game against the Atlanta Hawks and followed it up with another solid performance in team's win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday.
LeBron James is not worried about his son's inconsistent production in the Summer League and believes that Bronny has time to work on his craft.
“I mean, he’s 19 years old, so he has so much room to grow. He has so much more to learn, but the best thing, he just keeps his head down and just stays focused," LeBron told the Athletic on Friday.
"So the best will continue to come as he continues to work and continues to get better and better," he added.
Several videos have surfaced online showing LeBron James keeping a tab on Bronny James' games while carrying out his individual workout with Team USA.
LeBron has featured in three exhibition games for Team USA so far and is scheduled to play in two more games before the Olympic Games kicks-off in Paris. The 4-time NBA MVP is averaging 9.3 points and 2.7 assists per game with Team USA this year.
On Saturday, LeBron and Team USA will be up against South Sudan in London. It will be their penultimate showcase game, with the final game scheduled to take place against Germany on Monday.

The former USC guard bettered his performance against Hawks with a 13-point game against the Cavaliers on Thursday. He shot 5-of-10 from the field, including 1-of-3 from downtown.
Overall, Bronny James is averaging 8.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, one assist, 0.8 steals and 0.5 blocks after playing four Summer League games.
