LeBron James goes with Nas for his favorite rap album choice despite West Coast ties as a LakerĀ

Aside from basketball, one of LeBron James' many passions is music. Ahead of his 22nd season, the superstar forward was put on the spot to name his favorite rap album.

When first asked the question, LeBron said it was too hard to pick just one. The question then changed to select his top three, but he only ended up naming two. First was "It Was Written" by Nas and "The Black Album" by Jay-Z.

Since joining the LA Lakers, LeBron James has had a West Coast bias at times. This was on display earlier this summer when he seemed to side with Kendrick Lamar over his longtime friend Drake in the rap feud. That said, LeBron ended up naming a pair of East Coast artists for his all-time list.

Nas and Jay-Z are two of the greatest artists in the rap genre, and both hail from New York. "It Was Written" was the second studio album in the former's career and was quickly a big hit. Among the top songs on the album was one of Nas' biggest hits, "If I Ruled The World."

LeBron is gearing up for a fresh season with the Lakers. After helping Team USA win gold in the Paris Olympics, the 20-time All-Star will attempt to carry that momentum into the 2024-25 campaign. This year will be especially important to LeBron, as he'll play alongside his son in the NBA.

Nas shows love to LeBron James following his latest venture

After giving Nas' album high praise, the music legend gave the NBA star his flowers following another successful venture.

Earlier this week, Hennessy announced that LeBron James is the latest big name to partner with them. He was featured in a commercial with the limited edition bottle, where he's seen spinning it on his finger like a basketball.

Following this news, many congratulated the LA Lakers star on this partnership. Among those to do so was Nas, who posted a pair of photos of them on his Instagram.
