"LeBron James, Michael Jordan, those guys come all the time" - Patrick Beverley undercuts NBA legends' hype highlighting his rare talent
In a recent clip from the "Pat Bev Pod," former Milwaukee Bucks player Patrick Beverley talked about how he sees himself differently from legendary players in the NBA. Beverley mentioned Stephen Curry, LeBron James and Michael Jordan, highlighting them and giving them credit.
"Me and a good friend, we had a conversation about stars and superstars," Beverley said. "Steph Curry, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan. Those guys come all the time. We might not understand it, all those guys are a dime a dozen."
He also mentioned that the players he named were one of a kind in the sport. However, he separates himself as he believes that he presents an advantage. Beverley has a unique talent on the court. His efforts, especially on the defensive end, make him unique.
He then went on to name Draymond Green and Marcus Smart as other players who have something unique to offer, sharing that they cannot be replicated. He also pointed out that a few rising stars are often touted as "the next great star," comparing them to those who came before.
However, players like himself and even Derrick White (who he mentioned at the end), don't get to be compared to other stars even though they still bring importance and value.
"Only one Draymond Green, only one Pat Bev, one Dennis Rodman. I put Marcus Smart up there, I put Jrue Holiday up there," he said.
Players like Beverley and White usually don't showcase immense offensive talent; but make up for it on the other hand. This way, their value is amplified and it benefits stars and other players to focus on the offensive end.

Caitlin Clark shouldn't be compared to other stars, according to Patrick Beverley
Since entering the WNBA, Caitlin Clark has been hailed as the star of the future and often gets compared to both former and current stars in the league. However, Beverley believes that this comparison should be stopped.
"I think with Caitlin Clark… You can’t compare her to Candace Parker," he said. "You can’t compare her to Maya Moore. You can’t compare her A’ja Wilson. You can’t compare her to these women. She has a normal woman’s frame. Like the everyday, average woman is her height."
Beverley then mentioned Curry's relatability to fans due to his average build. The former Bucks guard believes that this aspect would also be the case for Clark.
