LeBron James comments on Rihanna's performance at Super Bowl LVII half-time show
Fans thoroughly enjoyed Rihanna's performance. LeBron was one of them. The four-time NBA MVP took to Twitter to express his thoughts on her performance, writing:
"Rih got so many killer tracks!!!!"
James was at the game when he tweeted about Rihanna's performance. The Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs were the two teams in action in this year's Super Bowl at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
RiRi sent her fans into a frenzy with her performance, but that wasn't the only reason she made the headlines. The popular R&B artist flaunted her baby bump while performing at the Super Bowl halftime show. According to "The Hollywood Reporter," one of the singer's representatives confirmed that the singer was pregnant.
Exploring LeBron James and Rihanna's dynamic
Rihanna and LeBron James go way back. RiRi has been a longtime fan of the LA Lakers superstar. She has been spotted at games, often donning LeBron's jersey from his Cleveland, Miami, and now Los Angeles days. Rihanna has also posted about James' accomplishments on the court via her social media multiple times.
One of her more popular posts saw her dissing Steph Curry after "King James" anchored the Cleveland Cavaliers' monumental comeback win over the Golden State Warriors in the 2016 NBA Finals. The Cavs were down 3-1, but LeBron, along with former teammate Kyrie Irving, put on a clinic in the final three games of the series to seal the win.
James averaged 29.7 points, 11.3 rebounds and 8.9 assists while shooting 49.4 percent from the floor and 37.1 percent from deep. At the time, fans thought Curry had entirely taken over the mantle as the league's best player from LeBron following his back-to-back MVP wins, including one with a unanimous decision.
However, RiRi and James' supporters hit back instantly. The singer posted Steph Curry's picture and wrote this in her caption:
"'Ballin bigger than Lebron' they said"
Simply taking a jab at one of LeBron James' biggest rivals is a testament to how big of a fan RiRi is of the four-time NBA champion. He certainly didn't fail to return the favor by giving her a shoutout while watching her perform live.
