LeBron James made headlines at the start of the 2023-24 NBA season by donning a lavish outfit worth $28,000 as the Los Angeles Lakers played the defending champions Denver Nuggets on opening night.
His ensemble included items from Louis Vuitton and featured a $5,000 collarless jacket, $1,250 pants and $1,220 LV checker derby shoes. He also accessorized with an $11,000 Speedy Bandoulier 40 along with a briefcase valued at about $9,500. Notably, some of the pieces were from Pharrell's men's Spring-Summer 2024 collection.

The Los Angeles Lakers struggled to keep up with the defending champions Denver Nuggets to open the season. They lost by 12 points, 107-119, at the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado.
LeBron James had 21 points, eight rebounds, five assists and one steal during the loss. He also shot an accurate 10-16 from the field and had zero turnovers. Meanwhile, Anthony Davis struggled to shoot 6-17 of his field goals. The Lakers' center tallied 17 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two blocks.
Taurean Prince was inserted into the starting five after Jarred Vanderbilt was placed on the injured list. He was able to contribute an impressive 18 points and shot 4-6 beyond the 3-point line.
Nikola Jokic dominates in first regular season game
On the other end of the floor, Nikola Jokic was at his usual groove registering a triple-double on opening night. The Serbian center had 20 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists.
Jokic got help from Jamal Murray registering 21 points, six assists and two rebounds while former Laker Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had 20 points of his own.
The Lakers will look to earn their first win of the season as they host Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns on Thursday, October 26, at the Crypto.com Arena. Meanwhile, the Denver Nuggets will try to keep up the momentum from their first win as they face the Memphis Grizzlies on their first road game on Friday, October 27.
