LeBron James shouts out Anthony Davis, celebrating his big night in Lakers triumph over 76ers
LeBron James' LA Lakers climbed over .500 following their victory against the shorthanded Philadelphia 76ers on Friday. The Lakers were in control for most of the game as they held the lead throughout except for two brief moments in the second quarter. LA won the game116-106.
Anthony Davis played a huge role in the victory over the 76ers and earned a shoutout from James on Instagram. James shared an image of him and Davis on IG stories. The image features both stars standing under the rim, where they appear to be talking.
James also added the following caption:
"My fkn DOG!!! Woe @antdavis23."
LeBron James posted this shoutout after Anthony Davis led the team in scoring against the Sixers.
Davis scored 31 points and nearly registered a double-double as he finished with nine rebounds. He made 11 of 20 field goal attempts and went 2-for-3 from beyond the arc. The star big man also did his usual work on the defensive end, rejecting four shots.
This high-scoring game is just the latest in a string of 30-point performances from Davis. Davis has fewer games where he has not reached the 30-point threshold.
He opened the season with three consecutive 30-point games for the Lakers. His streak ended on Oct. 28 against the Suns when he scored 29. He was held under 30 again on Oct. 30, scoring 22 against the Cavaliers.
He picked up his streak again on Nov. 1 against the Toronto Raptors, scoring a season-high 38. He followed that up with a 37-point game against the Detroit Pistons on Nov. 4.
LeBron James also had a huge performance against the Philadelphia 76ers
It wasn't just Anthony Davis who had a big game against the Sixers on Friday. Despite scoring less than Davis, LeBron James recorded a triple-double against Philadelphia. He finished with 21 points and led the team in both rebounds and assists, with 12 and 13, respectively. James also showed up on the defensive end, rejecting three shots.
This is James' second triple-double of the season, with the first coming against the Sacramento Kings on Oct. 26. In that game, he registered 32 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists.
So far this year, LeBron James has averaged 23.7 points, 7.4 rebounds and 8.1 assists.
