LeBron James' wife Savannah James melts over Lakers' star emotional fatherhood post ahead of NBA Draft Day
Four-time NBA champ LeBron James is preparing to watch his oldest son, Bronny James, live out his dream at the NBA draft. Ahead of the draft it seems to be more of a question of where Bronny James will go rather than a question of if he will get selected. Prior to the start of night one of the draft, LeBron James took to Instagram to reflect on fatherhood.
In an emotional post, he shared photos of him and both of his sons working out together. With Bronny expected to be drafted tonight, and Bryce looking like a future NBA prospect in his own right, James was feeling emotional.
"Not a feeling in the fkn world better than being around raising my boys to MEN! Pops over here getting emotional as hell just thinking about yall journey so far! Thank you both for allowing me to be your DAD and be apart of your compass through life’s trials and tribulations!"
In response, Savannah James reposted the photo of her husband and two kids on her Instagram story along with some teary-eyed emojis.
While Bronny James could be selected tonight in the first round of the draft, the current betting odds indicate that he’s likely to go in the second round, however, that could change depending on how things shake out. In either case, the expectation is that when Bronny is drafted, his family will be right there with him ready to celebrate.
Looking at potential landing spots for Bronny James, and whether or not LeBron James will join him on whatever team drafts him
Earlier this season, LeBron James made it clear that he wanted to play with both of his sons in the NBA. Given that, there was immediate talk of James potentially opting out of the final year of his contract in order to join whatever team drafts Bronny.
Since then, however, there have been reports from insiders such as Adrian Wojanrowski and Brian Windhorst indicating that James is no longer prioritizing playing with his son. During his exit interview with the Lakers, James then echoed a similar sentiment while speaking to media members during his exit interview following the Lakers’ playoff elimination.
“I haven’t given it much thought lately. Obviously, I thought about it in the past. The end of the day, the kid has to do what he wants to do. I don’t even want to say kid no more. The young man will decide what he wants to do and how he wants his career to go”
With that in mind, the big question is where Bronny James may land in the draft. The over/under odds on FanDuel currently show him as a late-second rounder, meaning that he could either land with the Golden State Warriors who have the 52nd pick, or the Lakers, who have the 55th pick.
Given that the Philadelphia 76ers and the Phoenix Suns have both forfeited their second-round picks this year as a result of tampering, this year’s draft will only have 58 picks. Where Bronny James falls in the pack, only time will tell.
