"LeBron’s view of the world is so narrow" - Jason Whitlock chides 'unintelligent' LeBron James over old video of him praising black icons
In 2022, LeBron James reacted to the death of Kirsnick Khari Ball, known professionally as “Takeoff,” the youngest member of the group “Migos.” James was so affected by the artist’s death that he changed his X avatar to that of the deceased rapper. He also posted a message on the social media platform, writing:
“Rest in Paradise Rocket Man.”
After the LA Lakers’ game against the New Orleans Pelicans two years ago, James had a press conference. He told reporters that Ball’s death was a “hit” to the Black community. “King James” added that athletes, artists and “the neighborhood dope-boy” serve as sources of inspiration outside the family, making the rapper’s death a big loss.
Jason Whitlock brought revisited the video and reacted to LeBron James' claims.
“LeBron’s [James] view of the world is so narrow; he can only see it through his 6’9” generational talent lens," James said. "He’s unintelligent. He doesn’t realize that black people can be mentored by more than just dope-boys.”
Whitlock emphasized that James didn’t have a father to guide him and that the Akron, Ohio native, spent most of his time playing basketball. However, the “Fearless” host insisted that there are other sources of inspiration beyond James’ perspective. The veteran sports journalist blasted the NBA star, calling him “stupid” for his claim about the sources of inspiration within Black communities.
Jason Whitlock claims LeBron James’ “stupidity” had something to do with the basketball star’s “Diddy problems”
Jason Whitlock jumped to the present after tackling an issue that happened two years ago. He continued to criticize LeBron James for the basketball star's reported involvement with Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, who is currently detained by federal authorities on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation for prostitution.
Whitlock included those issues and said:
“I just can't imagine being this stupid and someone this stupid is capable of being immersed and caught up in Diddy’s problems. Stupidity and what’s going on with Diddy go hand in hand like peanut butter and jelly.”
Videos of LeBron James partying with P. Diddy have emerged over the last few days. Others, including Candace Owens, have already called out the LA Lakers star for refusing to address the Diddy controversy. Whitlock joined the fray with his comment in the latest episode of the "Fearless" podcast.
