"Let's go my baby": Steph Curry's wife Ayesha Curry proudly supports Warriors superstar ahead of his 16th NBA season
Steph Curry embarked on his 16th NBA season on Wednesday night as his Golden State Warriors faced off against the Portland Trail Blazers in their season opener. His wife, Ayesha Curry, shared her husband’s Instagram post before the game, where he expressed his excitement for the upcoming season.
In his post, the Warriors star featured highlight clips and moments with fans, along with a message expressing his enthusiasm about the revamped Warriors lineup, captioning it:
“You know the vibes. Season 16 loading.”
Ayesha Curry reposted the video on her Instagram story, adding:
“Let’s goooooooooo my baby! God is good! So proud of you (Steph Curry).”
After claiming the championship in 2022, the Warriors experienced a decline in performance, being eliminated in the 2023 Western Conference semifinals and missing the playoffs in 2024.
During the offseason, the Warriors made significant changes, parting ways with Klay Thompson and Chris Paul, while adding role players like Kyle Anderson, De’Anthony Melton and Buddy Hield.
Curry said during media day that the Warriors would vie for a championship this year with their revamped roster. It will be a tough task to contend in the wild Western Conference, but the two-time MVP has expressed his confidence in the team that also features holdovers Draymond Green, Andrew Wiggins and Jonathan Kuminga, members of the 2022 championship team.
Last season, Curry averaged 26.4 points, 5.1 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game.
Steph Curry signs extension with Warriors, welcomes new son during offseason
This offseason, Steph Curry inked a $62.6 million extension, ensuring he stays with the Warriors through the 2026-27 season unless the team trades him. He is set to earn $55.8 million for the 2024-25 season, $59.6 million for 2025-26 and the league-maximum $62.6 million for 2026-27.
Shortly after announcing the extension, Steph and Ayesha pledged $25 million over five years toward literacy programs in Oakland, providing one-on-one tutoring for students two grade levels behind in reading.
In addition, Steph and Ayesha welcomed their fourth child, a son named Caius Chai, born on May 11. In a March interview on Ayesha's website, Sweet July, she shared that they initially thought their family was complete.
"For so many years, Stephen and I thought we were done," Ayesha shared. "And then, last year, we looked at each other and agreed we wanted to do this again."
Caius joined his older brother Canon, born in 2018, and his two older sisters, Riley, born in 2011, and Ryan, born in 2015, in the Curry family.
