Wembanyama has come a long way since the time this video must have been shot. In his first NBA season, he clinched the Rookie of the Year award after he put up stats of 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 3.6 blocks, and 1.2 steals per game. This season has seen him take his game a notch higher and he is averaging 24.6 points, 10.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 4.0 blocks and 1.1 steals.

Victor Wembanyama opens up on All-Star starter snub

Victor Wembanyama is likely to be an All-Star reserve in his second season, although many fans and analysts expected that he would be a starter. He spoke about the snub on Thursday before the results were officially announced.

"I didn't have my mind on that at all," the Spurs star said. "There's a lot going on right now, and we got games to focus on. So it's — just like everything— it's a byproduct of collective results, and the individual awards will come."

The starters for the Western Conference, the conference in which Wembanyama's San Antonio Spurs play are, LA Lakers' LeBron James, Golden State Warriors' Steph Curry, Denver Nuggets' Nikola Jokic, OKC Thunder's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Phoenix Suns' Kevin Durant.
