"Look at this fool right here" - Draymond Green allegedly stirs up tension with Jordan Poole in leaked audio
Former Golden State teammates Draymond Green and Jordan Poole reunited on the court on Monday night during the Warriors vs. Wizards game at the Capitol One Arena in Washington. There were some tense moments during the game, but it ended up less intense than people had expected. However, leaked audio hinted at some tension between the former teammates.
In a video uploaded by LegendZ, known for transcribing player interactions, tense exchanges between Green and Poole during the game were highlighted. The Wizards guard taunted Green after hitting a 3-point shot by pointing at him.
Green returned the favor by pointing at Poole after Steph Curry hit a 3. The former Warrior also talked smack to his ex-teammate while at the free-throw line. Poole even stepped in to separate his Wizards teammate Bub Carrington from Green after verbally sparring.
Green allegedly said:
"Look at this fool right here… he's been talking all night, that's what it is."
While some fans interpreted this as Draymond Green calling Jordan Poole a "fool," Green was referring to Carrington, whom he said had been talking trash to him the whole game.
In the end, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Washington Wizards 125-112. Poole finished with 24 points and three assists, while Green had 18 points, eight rebounds and five assists.
The well-known clash between Green and Poole began during the training camp ahead of the 2022-23 NBA season. The former Defensive Player of the Year punched Poole in the face, a moment that was caught on video and leaked.
The incident led to a team suspension for Green and, later, Poole’s trade to the Wizards in the summer of 2023. While Poole had a challenging first season in Washington, he’s showing improvement this season, averaging 22.5 points on 44.9% shooting.

"You know, you come to a new situation, I've never done it, but I’ve watched a lot of it," Green said. "But as a competitor, you just want to show everything that you can do. You want to show that you’re the guy."
"I think last year he was pressing a lot. He just wanted it to happen so bad, and this year he's a lot more settled in."
The Warriors and Wizards are set to clash one more time this season on Jan. 18 at the Chase Center in San Francisco. It's a homecoming for Poole, who helped win Golden State's championship in 2022.
