"Looked like a damn idiot": Charles Barkley ruthlessly mocks Jalen Williams' $530 Balaclava look

Charles Barkley was taken aback by the postgame outfit of OKC Thunder sophomore Jalen Williams. Williams, also known as "JDub,” wore a balaclava that covered most of his head, surprising Barkley.

Williams donned a Simone Rocha SSENSE Exclusive Black Beaded Balaclava, which is listed at $530 on Clothbase.

On Inside the NBA, Barkley voiced his disapproval of Williams' attire.

"What the hell?" Barkley said. "He wore that to the game? That's a real outfit? He must've known he was going to play well... He looked like a damn idiot,
“You just can't wear anything, kids. Come on, kids."

Despite Barkley's dislike for his postgame attire, he voiced confidence in Williams and the Thunder, predicting their victory in the first-round series against the New Orleans Pelicans. The Thunder secured a 106-85 victory on Saturday, taking a commanding 3-0 series lead.

“We're not even going to send [the Pelicans] to Cancun. We're gonna send them to Galveston, where that dirty a** water be washed up on the shore,” Barkley said.

Jalen Williams filled up the stat sheet with 21 points, nine rebounds and five assists. He drilled three 3-pointers and was a team-high plus-22.

Earlier this year, James Harden, a former member of the Thunder ball club, commended Jalen Williams for his skills on the court and his fashion sense.

“He’s been killing it. I feel like a proud big brother,” Harden said about Williams. “I think that’s our job is to create something special to give back to the younger generation.”

Jalen Williams calls the OKC Thunder the ‘best-dressed’ team in the NBA

In December 2022, Jalen Williams labeled the OKC Thunder as the NBA's best-dressed team, attributing their fashion sense to the previous Thunder era, which featured fashionable players such as Russell Westbrook and Serge Ibaka.

When asked about the key to OKC's status as the most stylish team in the league, Jalen Williams said:

“Westbrook and that whole band. I don’t know how we ended up getting that but I do think we’re the best-dressed team down from A-Z.”

This new era of the Thunder also features Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, a multiple-time winner of GQ's Most Stylish Man of the Year honors.

In an interview with Dazed, SGA expressed that being in the league allows him to express himself through his fashion.

“It gives me a platform to show the world who I am, art-wise, and my personality,” Gilgeous-Alexander said. “I can show my ideas beyond basketball.”
