"Looking good": Alisah Chanel hypes husband P.J. Washington ahead of Clippers playoff showdown
P.J. Washington had the hype from his wife Alisah Chanel as she caught a bit of the Dallas Mavericks practice ahead of their first-round playoff showdown against the LA Clippers.
The forward has been a massive boost to the team with his two-way play since he was traded ahead of the deadline this season. He was seen putting in the work at the lab, efforts that earned him rave hype from Chanel. She took to Instagram to share a clip of him practicing.
Chanel, a regular fixture in arenas to watch Washington play, kept her IG caption isimple but impactful.
"Looking good"
Washington and his girlfriend Chanel started dating a few months after he broke up with his ex-girlfriend Brittany Renner.
He proposed to her in August 2022 and married in October 2023. The pair share a child. With the playoffs looming, it's clear that the IG model/influencer has her husband's back.
P.J. Washington will be key for the Mavericks in their playoff run
The Dallas Mavericks are known for their backcourt offensive powerhouses Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. But there's no ruling out the impact P.J. Washington has had on the team since he was traded from the Charlotte Hornets.
He slots himself as the third reliable scoring option, behind Doncic and Irving, and his six-foot-eight frame and wingspan also make him a pesky defender. He will be their go-to pick-and-roll big in the postseason.
This season, P.J. Washington is averaging 11.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 28 games with the Mavericks. Earlier, he played 44 games with Charlotte and averaged 13.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.2 assists.
After the win over the Miami Heat, the forward revealed that Dallas is ready.
“For us, we have a goal and nothing is going to stop that. So for us, that’s our main focus no matter who we’re playing. We’re always hungry and excited for the next opportunity to go out there and play.”
After missing out on the playoffs last season, Dallas is back with a bang this time, but only time will tell if they can win the NBA championship. They last won it in 2011 with Dirk Nowitzki, and it has been a drought for the franchise since then.
