Lou Williams blasts media and politicians for ignoring citizen's death in Donald Trump assassination attempt: "They don’t care"
Former NBA player Lou Williams has criticized the media and politicians for not acknowledging the citizen who was killed during an apparent assassination attempt at former President Donald Trump on Saturday. Williams, never one to hold back from sharing his opinion, expressed his outrage in a post on X.
Williams, a former three-time NBA Sixth Man of the Year, known for his candidness off the court as much as his sixth-man prowess on it, didn't mince words as he wrote on X:
"All of these politicians, even trump have put out statements and none of them have acknowledged the American citizen that was reportedly killed. That don’t sit right with me. Either this sh*t cap or they don’t care. Both alarming to lil ol me."
Trump was making a public appearance at one of his rallies in Butler, Pennsylvania, when a sniper reportedly fired at him. Per AP, a citizen attending the rally was killed in the shooting, while two others were critically injured. The 45th U.S. President was reported to have suffered a wound to his ear.
Donald Trump took to his social media platform, "Truth," to acknowledge the citizen who was killed during the rally and offer his condolences.
The FBI identified the shooter as a 20-year-old from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. He was shot dead by the Secret Service members after he fired the initial rounds of gunfire.
Lou Williams weighs in on famous YouTuber's experience with German car owner
NBA veteran Lou Williams weighed in on a recent incident involving YouTuber IShowSpeed. During his time in Germany, the famous influencer got himself to the legendary Nurburgring race track, where he wanted to buy a car.
A KTM X-Bow with a for-sale sign prompted Speed to convince somebody to sell the car. Yet the man who apparently owned the car wasn't quite so keen to chat about it with the American streamer.
"Hey, I am serious I am not trolling I am trying to buy! I got the money. I am serious though. Why do you think I am not? I am serious," Speed said.
"You don't want to sell it to me? Okay then, just say that. You got it for sale, bro. Okay. What the hell is wrong with that dude, bro?"
Lou Williams reacted to the awkward exchange with a post on X. Williams wrote that he typically leaves when presented with such an ultimatum.
"That’s always been my thing. I’m not buying nothing from you if you don’t want me to," Williams wrote.
Lou Williams was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers in the second round of the 2005 draft. He played for the Atlanta Hawks, Toronto Raptors and LA Lakers, among others.
