Luka Doncic celebrates Novak Djokovic's Golden Slam win with emojis

Luka Doncic previously had one of his most impressive individual seasons where he reached his first NBA Finals. His level of excellence remains uncanny, similar to Serbian professional tennis player Novak Djokovic, who won his first Olympic gold medal in a singles competition. In celebration of Djokovic's accomplishment, Doncic congratulated him on Instagram.

Djokovic won against Spanish professional tennis player Carlos Alcaraz, adding another incredible accolade to his impressive resume. However, the Mavericks star himself is no stranger to securing individual awards. He has racked up All-NBA awards, All-Star nods and EuroLeague awards. Doncic included a couple of goat emojis to celebrate Djokovic's Olympic accolade.

During a friendly game between Serbia and Slovenia in 2022, Luka Doncic was spotted sharing a moment with Novak Djokovic after the head-to-head matchup. Photographer Ales Fevzer captured them and shared the image on X via the official account of the Basketball Federation of Slovenia.

Doncic posted an incredible all-around performance of 34 points, nine assists and six rebounds. It was an overtime victory for Slovenia by a score of 97-92. The two professional athletes are known to be good friends and have often complimented one another regarding their craft.


Luka Doncic talked about finally getting a much-deserved rest after a long season

The Dallas Mavericks lost to the Boston Celtics in the Final 106-88, held on Jun. 18, with Boston leading the 5-game series 4-1. After that, Doncic played in the Slovenia Men's National Basketball Team to secure a spot in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

However, the team ran into Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo and Team Greece, losing in the semis 93-68. Following the loss, Doncic pointed out to experience fatigue and relief that a well-deserved rest is within reach, as per Sports Illustrated's Grant Afseth.

"A long and tiring season is behind me," Doncic said. "I admit that I am very tired, and at the same time, I am aware that I could give more of myself in a different state. Now I have a well-deserved rest waiting for me, and next year, I will have a new national team campaign at the European Championship."

Before the qualifier games, Doncic played over 70 games last season and 22 in the postseason. He averaged 29.2 points (47.2% shooting, including 24.4% from beyond the arc), 8.8 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game.
