Luka Doncic hilariously trolls Mavericks' rising star in his latest IG post: "Lover* time to learn english!"

Dallas Mavericks stars Luka Doncic and Dereck Lively engaged in a fun interaction online where the Mavs ace roasted the youngster. Lively uploaded several pictures of himself to his official Instagram account, accompanied by a caption with an intended grammatical error.

"This ainโ€™t no ๐Ÿ’ฉ, but im a Klover boy.๐Ÿ€"

However, Luka Doncic saw this as an opportunity to roast the youngster. The Slovenian international took his thoughts to the comments section of the post.

"Lover* time to learn English!" Doncic wrote.

Doncic and Lively had a great run with the Mavericks last season. They surprised a lot of fans by climbing their way up to the NBA Finals where they fought hard against the eventual champions Boston Celtics.

As a rookie last season, Lively averaged 7.9 points, 7.4 assists and 1.0 blocks per game in the postseason.

Doncic, on the other hand, delivered an MVP-level campaign. The Slovenian international averaged 33.9 points, 9.2 rebounds and 9.8 assists per game in the regular season and 28.9 points, 9.5 rebounds and 8.1 assists in the postseason.

Dereck Lively gives hilarious response to Theo Pinson's Luka Doncic-Shai Gilgeous-Alexander comparison

Last month at the Nike EYBL, former NBA player Theo Pinson asked Dereck Lively to choose between his team's ace, Luka Doncic, and Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. The Mavs rookie thought for a bit and returned to Pinson with a hilarious response.

"Who won that matchup?" Lively said.

The former NBA center burst out in laughter as Dereck Lively cleverly referred to last season's Western Conference semi-finals between the Mavs and Thunder.

The Mavs opened the series with a loss but eventually won the matchup 4-2. Both Doncic and SGA delivered great performances, but the Mavericks' tenacity and the advantage of having one of the greatest ball handlers in Kyrie Irving ended up being the difference maker.
