Luka Doncic refuses to mention his all-time ranking for LeBron Jamesย

Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic refused to speak about his all-time ranking for LeBron James. The point guard conveniently chose to stay away from the popular internet debate by not talking about the topic. Here's what Doncic said about it (via Grant Afseth):

"I'm not doing the rankings stuff, man. I just enjoy great basketball players. That's it. He's an amazing player, an exceptional player, but I'm not doing the rankings stuff."

LeBron James' all-time ranking is something that is always up for debate. His active status makes it difficult for his critics and naysayers to mention him in the same breath as Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kobe Bryant and many other greats.

Luka Doncic must be well aware of this, resulting in his refusal to rank James on his all-time list. The Slovenian has kept a low profile on social media and avoided controversial questions, so it isn't a surprise that he wanted no part in the debates circling James' rankings.

Nevertheless, Doncic continues to have the utmost respect for the LA Lakers superstar. The two recently faced off against each other. Doncic's Mavericks recorded a 119-115 double OT win in a thrilling contest over LeBron's Lakers.

The former went off for 35 points, 14 rebounds and 13 assists, while the latter registered 24 points, 16 rebounds and nine assists. James and Doncic embraced each other before and after the game, displaying respect and appreciation for each other.

Luka Doncic claimed he wouldn't be able to break LeBron James' scoring record

LeBron James is likely to become the NBA's all-time scoring record-holder this season. He is currently 399 points away from passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. The latter's record has stood for 38 years. James proved that what was once considered an unbreakable record could be breached.

Now fans wonder if someone will surpass James' record. The Lakers star named players like Kevin Durant, Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, Joel Embiid and Giannis Antetokounmpo as players who could break his record.

LeBron on who he thinks could surpass him on the all-time scoring list once he gets there first.

Some names he brought up:
- Kevin Durant
- Kyrie Irving
- Luka Doncic
- Joel Embiid
- Giannis Antetokounmpo

Says health and good luck comes into play.

However, Doncic had previously shut down his prospects of breaking the record after matching up against LeBron James on Christmas Day. The Dallas Mavericks All-Star said:

โ€œIf youโ€™re saying me, thereโ€™s no way. Because Iโ€™m not playing that much."

He added:

"I donโ€™t know about 20 years... Thatโ€™s a long time to play basketball. Iโ€™d rather go back to my farm in Slovenia."
