Luka Doncic's $500,000 1968 Chevy Camaro to feature in Forza Horizon 5
Luka Doncic is enjoying his offseason but he continues to grab headlines with his 1968 Chevy Camaro. The Slovenian’s ride received a dapper makeover in April during the Dallas Mavericks’ first-round series against the LA Clippers. To drum up hype for the release of the Luka 3 “Midnight Rider,” the Jumpman dressed the automobile in the pink and purple colorway.
A week ago, the same vehicle had another makeover. It came wrapped in battle green with black and white trimmings for the Luka 3 “Speedway.” The Jordan brand and Doncic fans likely expected something new in the next few months.
The Air Jordan line and Luka Doncic, however, keep surprising their fans. This time, the All-NBA guard’s famous Camaro, which reportedly costs $500,000 (as per Tork.buzz), will appear in the video game Forza Horizon 5.
In the latest and most ambitious release of the Forza series, the Jordan brand uses the iconic elephant color on the hood of the vehicle. The “Motorsport” colorway of the Luka 3, which looks a little like the Jordan 4, will come out in September at a still undetermined price. To drop the game and the shoe with a splash, the Jumpman and Forza Motorsport decided to collaborate.
Featuring Luka Doncic’s Chevy Camaro in the said racing game is also a nod to history for "Playground Games." The vehicle became a hit in 2001 when it first appeared on “Midnight Club: Street Racing.” Video game fans had fun using the car on PlayStation 2, Xbox and even PCs.
Luka Doncic uses his 1968 Chevy Camaro for “Passing Drills” for a Luka 3 ad
Luka Doncic is considered by many to be one of, if not the best, passers in the NBA today. Even LeBron James is impressed by how the Slovenian sees the court and how the Dallas Mavericks star runs his team. Unsurprisingly, the Jordan brand included that skill in the collaborative release of the Luka 3 and the Forza Horizon 5.
The video started with the NBA’s reigning scoring champ practicing his dribble. He showed off his control by juggling the ball off his feet. Just as the Camaro sped towards him, Doncic positioned himself near the driver’s side before whipping a pass that crossed the interior. The dummy on the other side of the car broke his arm, emphasizing the force of Doncic’s fastball.
Basketball fans will anticipate playing the video game and the release of Doncic’s shoes in September.
