"Luka move a little slow"- NLE Choppa makes bold claims about beating Luka Doncic in 1v1 setting
When it comes to NBA players such as Luka Doncic, they are more than capable of putting on a show outside the professional court, even the ones who aren't considered stars. However, rapper NLE Choppa feels confident about his basketball skills. He feels so confident that he shared a bold claim about getting the edge over the Mavericks superstar.
He previously had a few outings in the BIG3 Celebrity Game where he went up against other celebrities such as podcaster Gillie Da Kid, rapper A Boogie With da Hoodie, rapper Rico Nasty and former NFL star Rashad Jennings. From what he has shown before, he certainly has some flashy moves on the basketball court.
However, he envisioned himself going up against someone like Luka Doncic, who relishes 1-on-1 matchups. His comments were shared on Instagram by Overtime's "Best of Both Worlds" podcast with Flau'jae.
"I think I could beat Luka 1v1 like for real," Choppa said. "I feel like Luka move a little slow like I feel like I could stay in front of him. I feel like his defense ain't 1-on-1, if we talking about 1-on-1. Now 5-on-5 he busting a**, but 1-on-1, if I can get a few misses out of him, I can make a few in a row to where I can win. ... Blow by him through a few turns."
It's one thing to have the confidence in going up against one of the premier shotmakers in the NBA but it's also another thing to make arguments about getting the advantage on the Mavericks star through quickness.
Luka Doncic talked about finally being able to get some rest
After Giannis Antetokounmpo and Greece's commanding 96-68 victory over Slovenia in Olympics qualifiers, Luka Doncic praised the opponent's efforts while also acknowledging how exhausted he has been, as per FanNation's Grant Afseth.
"A long and tiring season is behind me, Doncic said. "I admit that I am very tired. and at the same time, I am aware that I could give more of myself in a different state. Now I have a well-deserved rest waiting for me, and next year, I will have a national team campaign at the European Championship."
Doncic led the Dallas Mavericks to the 2024 NBA Finals against Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics. They ended up losing the series in five games but basketball didn't stop there for the superstar as he wanted to help his country make the Paris Olympics.
Compared to previous years, this has been his longest stretch of playing high-intensity basketball and admitted it took a toll on his body. However, he is more than excited for the rest that awaits him over the summer.
