"Make Darvin Ham HC": NBA fans back Bucks assistant coach to succeed Doc Rivers after 2-7 start

Doc Rivers and the Milwaukee Bucks are 2-7 after losing to the New York Knicks on Friday. Despite having the duo of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard on the Bucks' side, head coach Rivers seems to be struggling for wins.

NBA fans on social media are now targeting Rivers. Fans are going as far as suggesting that the Bucks' assistant coach, Darvin Ham, should be named head coach instead.

Here's what some had to say on X, formerly Twitter:

"They should fire him and make Darvin Ham hc."
"Hot seat?????? Bro, him and Darvin Ham should be banned from coaching for LIFE."

Here are some other fan reactions regarding Rivers on social media:

"2-7 with healthy Giannis and Dame is a diabolical work that only [Doc Rivers & Darvin Ham] can pull off," one expressed.
"Sorry but every time they pan to him & Ham on the sideline I burst out laughing. I actually don't know if you could have a worse tandem for a top-heavy susperstar-piloted team," one said.
"Doc rivers should’ve never been there… he shouldn’t have a job at all he’s the most overrated coach of all time," another said.
"2-7 is definitely concerning. Doc Rivers's coaching record is mixed, so it's a fair question to ask if he's the right fit for this Bucks team!! Time will tell," one tweeted.

The Milwaukee Bucks have been a huge disappointment this season after notching a 2-7 record to start their 2024-25 NBA season.

Before the season began, the Bucks were considered to be one of the most elite teams in the league. They have Giannis Antetokounmpo, who helped Milwaukee secure a title in 2021, then they have Damian Lillard who is now playing his second season with the team.

Despite having two of the biggest stars, the Bucks can't seem to catch a break. Many are currently pointing fingers at Doc Rivers. Since being named the head coach last January, Rivers has struggled to step up to the occasion.

The Bucks are 20-27 since Rivers became the head coach. Their winning percentage is below 50%, which is surprising for a team that's expected to be one of the top contenders. The good news is that coach Rivers still has an entire season ahead of him to redeem himself.
