Mark Cuban takes potshots at $400m-worth Shark Tank fellow judge following Kamala Harris critique
Dallas Mavericks executive Mark Cuban derided fellow Shark Tank judge Kevin O'Leary for his critique of presumptive Democratic presidential nominee and current U.S. Vice-President Kamala Harris.
Cuban, a former principal and now a minority owner of the recent NBA finalists Mavericks, took to X (formerly Twitter) and expressed his opinion over what O'Leary said about a possible Harris presidential candidacy on FOX News Live on Wednesday.
The Canadian businessman, with a reported net worth of around $400 million per Celebrity Net worth, intimated that some Democrats he knows are now having reservations about supporting Harris as their nominee, citing her lack of experience.
Mark Cuban ripped O'Leary for his comments, using a saying O'Leary usually says on Shark Tank against him.
"@kevinolearytv you should take this interview out behind the barn," Cuban said, referencing O'Leary's catchprhase of taking something behind the barn and shooting it.
Harris was thrust as the presumptive Democratic nominee in the 2024 election after U.S. President Joe Biden decided to withdraw from his reelection bid. The current VP is set to go head-to-head against Republican nominee and former U.S. President Donald Trump.
Mark Cuban, 66, is a known critic of Trump and is not bashful about expressing his thoughts on the former head of state on various levels.
Mark Cuban remains committed to Dallas Mavericks
While he is no longer the principal owner of the Dallas Mavericks and remains passionate about his politics, Mark Cuban is still committed to helping the team establish steady competitiveness in the NBA.
Cuban, who bought the team in 2000 for around $285 million, sold a controlling stake to the Adelson and Dumont families last year for $3.5 billion. The new majority owners run the Las Vegas Sands Corp.
But the maverick businessman remains deeply involved on the basketball side of the team as its head of basketball operations.
In an interview with PEOPLE back in February, Mark Cuban spoke about where he stands after the change of ownership in Dallas. He said:
"I'm still actively involved in the basketball side. I'm all in on the Mavs still. You'll see me at the games yelling and screaming at the refs, yelling and screaming for the Mavs. So that hasn't changed at all."
Since becoming part of the Mavericks franchise, Cuban has helped oversee the growth of the team as a force to contend with in the NBA.
With Cuban actively running the team's affairs, Dallas broke through and finally won its first-ever NBA title in 2011 over a loaded Miami Heat team that was led by LeBron James.
Last season, behind superstar Luka Doncic, the Mavericks returned to the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics. Dallas, however, lost in five games but left an impression that it will be around at the top for some time and the rest of the league should take notice.
