Matt Barnes net worth: Career earnings explored as former NBA star is ordered to pay $133,000 in child support
A judge has ordered former NBA player Matt Barnes to pay a total of $133,976.54 to his ex-wife Gloria Govan, per TMZ Sports. Barnes is apparently way behind on child support payments, which were reduced from $20,000 to $7,000 per month in 2018.
Barnes had a 14-year career in the NBA, playing for nine different teams. He won a championship ring in his final year in the league with the Golden State Warriors. He also played for the LA Clippers, Sacramento Kings, New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers, Phoenix Suns, Orlando Magic, LA Lakers, and Memphis Grizzlies.
The 43-year-old ESPN analyst and podcast host earned a total of $35,638,436 during his NBA career. He's also reportedly earning $3.4 million per year despite retiring from the league in 2017, as per Celebrity Net Worth.
Matt Barnes' estimated net worth is around $13 million and other outlets have it as high as $15 million. In addition to his work for ESPN and HBO, Barnes also works as an executive producer under Cultivate Entertainment and is represented by ICM Partners.
Barnes married Gloria Govan in 2012 before finalizing their divorce four years later. The former couple share twin teenagers, sons Carter and Isaiah. They had a very tumultuous relationship before, during, and after their marriage.

Matt Barnes' relationship with Gloria Govan
Matt Barnes was married to Gloria Govan for just four years, separating in 2014 and officially getting divorced in 2014. While Govan was still married to Barnes, she started dating her ex-husband's former teammate, Derek Fisher.
Barnes infamously got into an altercation with Fisher that was widely reported back in 2015. His relationship with Govan even became hostile in 2018 when Barnes was given a restraining order against his ex-wife. She allegedly tried to hit Barnes with a car that led to her arrest.
The one-time NBA champ won sole custody of their children that same year before finally forming an amicable relationship with her and Fisher. He's now in a relationship with model Anansa Sims, while Govan married Fisher in 2021.
"We buried the hatchet, we spoke," Barnes said on the 'Charges With Rex Chapman' podcast in 2021. "To me, because they're still together. ... It's about raising these twins the best we possibly can and co-parenting.
"So, now he and I are cool, on the same page. We communicate and see each other when we’re at events. They've been to my house for the twins' birthday. I've been to their place."
