Mavericks minority owner Mark Cuban sets rivalry aside to congratulate Elon Musk after SpaceX 'catches' Starship booster

Mark Cuban has set his feud with Elon Musk aside to congratulate his fellow billionaire after SpaceX successfully caught the booster of its Starship megarocket. Cuban and Musk have been feuding on X, formerly known as Twitter, due to their differences on a variety of topics.

In a post on his official X account, Cuban re-shared SpaceX's video on how it caught Starship's first-stage booster on Sunday in Texas. The booster returned to the launch pad with its Mechazilla arms after its initial flight minutes earlier. It was the first successful return of the booster by Musk's company.

"Incredible. Congratulations @elonmusk," Cuban tweeted.

According to Fox Weather, the upper part of the Starship reached space and was there for an hour. It had a soft landing in the Indian Ocean, which was predicted by the company. NASA administrator Bill Nelson also congratulated SpaceX for its amazing accomplishment.

"Congratulations to SpaceX on its successful booster catch and fifth Starship flight test today! As we prepare to go back to the Moon under Artemis, continued testing will prepare us for the bold missions that lie ahead -- including to the South Pole region of the Moon and then on to Mars," Nelson tweeted.

The successful return of Starship is a step toward Elon Musk's dream to put people on Mars in the future. Musk has also boasted about the reusability of their rockets and Sunday's events might have proved that claim.

Mark Cuban and Elon Musk have been exchanging jabs and shots on the latter's platform over the past year. One of the main reasons for it is their differences in politics, with Cuban supporting Kamala Harris and Musk voting for Donald Trump.

Speaking to Shannon Sharpe in an appearance on the "Club Shay Shay" podcast a few weeks ago, Mark Cuban was asked about his beef with Elon Musk. Cuban called Musk thin-skinned but explained that he has nothing personal against the SpaceX founder.

"I just love to f*ck with him, right?" Cuban said. "It's like nobody likes to f*ck with him. He's got really thin skin and so it just makes it easy. It's like he sets himself up. ... It's just fun and I don't have anything personal against him and I never initiate it."

Cuban then explained why he's not voting for Donald Trump despite knowing him for more than 25 years. The Dallas Mavericks minority owner emphasized the importance of next month's presidential election.
