Mavericks owner Mark Cuban criticizes Donald Trump’s entrepreneurship ethics

Ahead of the 2024 presidential election, Mark Cuban has made it clear which candidate he is endorsing. During a recent interview, the longtime NBA owner spoke out against one of Donald Trump's policies he'd like to implement if he becomes president again.

Earlier this week, Cuban sat down with Brian Tyler Cohen, a political analyst, to discuss the debate between former President Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris. Among the topics discussed was Trump's idea of imposing a tariff on all goods imported into the United States.

Mark Cuban stated that tariffs can be a good thing if implemented properly, but was against Trump's proposal. He doesn't feel that it's an ethical business practice to impose such a tax simply because he might not get along with that country.

Cuban said:

"It's not a bad thing to impose tarriffs when there's a strategic need," Cuban said. "What doesn't work are revenge tariffs or across the board tartiffs. Those are a disater because they affect every product."
"The idea of taxing everything and anything specifically because I don't like the people or the country where it's originating is insane."

As an entrepreneur, this is somewhat of an area of expertise for Cuban. Aside from owning the Dallas Mavericks, he has helped build numerous successful ventures for nearly the past three decades.

Mark Cuban continues social media battle with Elon Musk

As election day gets closer, numerous celebrities and people of influence have started speaking out for which candidate they favor. Over the past few weeks, Mark Cuban has had a war of words on social media with Elon Musk, who doesn't appear to share his views.

Cuban has been vocal in his support of Vice President Harris. Meanwhile, fellow entrepreneur Musk has endorsed former president Trump. Cuban and Musk continue to exchange words on X, formerly known as Twitter, with the Mavericks owner recently having a simple response to the Tesla CEO.

Earlier this week, Musk shared a post claiming that America was on its way towards becoming a "dictatorship." He commented that the only thing that could change the course of the country is re-electing Trump this year.

Musk's post would end up going viral, resulting in a wide range of responses. Among those to chime in was Mark Cuban, who posted "lol," as though the remark were comical.

This is just one of the many times these two have engaged online. Given their clear opposing stances on the election, more are sure to come as the election nears.
