Michael Jordan's daughter Jasmine Jordan pays sweet tribute to her 5-year-old son Rakeem on National Son's Day
NBA legend Michael Jordan's daughter Jasmine Jordan gave a tribute to her five-year-old son, Rakeem, on National Son's Day on Saturday. Jasmine took to Instagram, to share a snap of Rakeem cooking, calling her son her favorite chef as she celebrated him for the day.
"Happy National Son Day with my Favorite Chef š #MamasBoy," Jasmine captioned her IG story.
Jasmine Jordan is Michael Jordan's third child and first daughter with his ex-wife Juanita Vanoy. Jasmine made the six-time NBA champion a grandparent for the first time when she welcomed her son, Rakeem Michael Christmas in 2019 with her husband Rakeem Christmas.
While speaking to Andscape in 2020, Jasmine described her dad as "so soft" and "super involved" as a grandfather. She also spoke about Jordan's reaction to becoming a first-time grandparent.
"It took him a minute to actually understand like, āDang, Iām a grandpa,ā" Jasmine shared. "He never wants to feel like heās old, but he is a grandpa, and he loves it. He loves playing with his grandson and itās something that I think he never knew he was gonna love as much as he does."
While Jasmine Jordan doesn't play basketball, she is connected to the sport through her dad's Jordan brand. Having studied sports management at Syracuse University, she was previously a basketball operations coordinator for the Hornets. Jasmine currently works as a field representative in sports marketing for the Jordan brand.

Michael Jordan's daughter Jasmine Jordan shared a heartwarming message for her son, Rakeem, following his graduation from pre-school and transition to Kindergarten earlier this month. Jasmine took to Instagram to share a series of snaps of Rakeem in his graduation robe along with other snaps from his first day at Kindergarten.
Jasmine also shared a message for her son in the caption:
"This Guy Right Hereš„¹ We say goodbye to the summer and goodbye to pre-school. Kindergartenšš.. we in here!! Iām so proud you son. You amaze me every single day and there isnāt a single thing you canāt do. Hereās to your next chapter and new beginnings! I love you with all of me š¤š¾. Aim high my baby š" Jasmine captioned.
None of Michael Jordan's children have followed his footsteps into the NBA court. According to Jasmine's post, it seems Rakeem also does not intend to follow in his grandfather's footsteps, wanting to be a musician instead.
