Michael Jordan's daughter Jasmine reacts to viral TikTok video with 'Donald Trump convicted felon' lyrics
NBA legend Michael Jordan's daughter Jasmine Jordan reacted to a viral TikTok video that featured a woman dancing to a song with the lyrics repeating, "Donald Trump is a convicted felon." On Friday, Jasmine shared the video on her Instagram story as she highlighted her stance for the upcoming presidential elections in her caption.
"On Repeat cause...DUH #VoteVoteVote!" Jasime wrote in her IG story.
Michael Jordan welcomed his third child and first daughter, Jasmine, with his ex-wife Juanita Vanoy in 1992, following his second NBA title. Jasmine studied sports management at Syracuse University, where she met her husband, Rakeem Christmas. The couple welcomed their son, Rakeem Michael Christmas, in 2019, making the six-time NBA champion a first-time grandparent.
Though Jasmine doesn't play basketball, she has stayed connected to the sport through her dad's Jordan brand and his NBA team, the Charlotte Hornets. She was previously a basketball operations coordinator for the Hornets and currently works as a field representative in sports marketing for the Jordan brand.
Michael Jordan's daughter Jasmine talks about legacy of Jordan brand
In an interview with USA Today at SEICon 2024 in July, Michael Jordan's daughter Jasmine spoke about the legacy of her father's Jordan brand. She delved into what the brand stands for and also spoke about the goal of the family to keep it running successfully.
"I think at the end of the day, the Jordan brand stands for so many elements and that goes beyond him and we have the athletes that continue to carry the torch of greatness and success, and it's all about when the time comes and you owning it," Jasmine said.
"I know he's not going to relinquish his seat anytime soon, nor do I want him to, but the goal is at some point, the family continues to run it and manage it alongside Nike and do a great job doing it."
When asked if she thought the brand's Jumpman logo may need some changes, Jasmine was quick to answer with a firm no:
"Absolutely not. That's the most iconic logo of all time, I'm leaving it alone for as long as I live."
Further, when asked if she gives marketing suggestions to her dad, Jasmine said Michael Jordan knows what he's doing and that she doesn't try to nudge it much:
"No. I share my two cents, but at the end of the day, if it's not broken don't fix it. He knows what he's doing and he understands how we got here and now it's about continuing to go past that."
The Jordan brand has arguably revolutionized sneaker culture and holds the second-highest share of the USA's footwear market after its parent company, Nike. As of 2024, the brand is responsible for almost $6.6 billion in revenue for Nike, which accounts for around 13% of its total sales.
