Michael Jordan's daughter showers Jayson Tatum with praise as Celtics clinch NBA title after 16 years
After years of deep playoff runs, Jayson Tatum finally delivered the Boston Celtics an NBA championship. Among those to congratulate the star forward was Michael Jordan's daughter.
While celebrating with his teammates in the locker room, Tatum was rocking goggles with the Jumpman logo on them. Jasmine Jordan ended up posting a photo of him on her Instagram story with a congratulatory message. She feels this is the first of multiple championships for the Celtics star.
"Did that. @JayTatum0 Congrats Gang #FIRSTOFMANY"
Jayson Tatum has arguably played his best game of the NBA Finals in the series-clincher against the Dallas Mavericks. In 45 minutes of action, he logged a stat line of 31 points, eight rebounds, 11 assists and two steals. It marked the second time in this series that he scored 30 or more points (31 in Game 3).
While he did receive some votes, Tatum did not walk away with Finals MVP honors. Instead, it was awarded to his running mate, Jaylen Brown.
How long has Jayson Tatum been with the Jordan brand?
Jayson Tatum is affiliated with Michael Jordan's brand. He's been signed with Jordan for a couple of years now and has his own signature shoe with the company.
Tatum first signed with the Jordan brand in 2019 after being in the NBA for two years. As he continued to rise to superstardom, he has slowly become one of the biggest faces in their basketball division.
Last summer, the Jordan brand decided it was time to give Jayson Tatum his own shoe. The Tatum 1 has multiple colorways now, including "Arena Fits" and "Old School." Per Nike's website, the shoe costs anywhere between $120 and $90.
Tatum is one of many young stars in the NBA to have a deal with the Jordan brand. Among the others is Luka Doncic, with whom he just squared off in the finals. Some other notable names include Zion Williamson and Russell Westbrook.
Still only 26 years old, Tatum has stacked up an impressive list of accolades. Now a one-time champion, he is also a five-time All-Star, four-time All-NBA, one-time All-Star MVP and one-time conference finals MVP.
Looking to the future, Tatum has the chance to become one of the Jordan brand's biggest draws. Coming off a dominant season with the Celtics, it likely won't be long before another signature shoe gets added to his collection.
