Michael Jordan's shoes from 'Last Dance' may fetch up to a record-breaking $4 million

Michael Jordan's "The Last Dance" has shown basketball fans a deeper insight into what his final season with the Chicago Bulls was like. The documentary featured many pairs of his signature shoes, but one specific pair could end up breaking auction records.

During the 1998 NBA Finals, Jordan and the Bulls defeated Karl Malone and the Utah Jazz to cap off another impressive three-peat win. During the series, the 6-foot-6 shooting guard wore the Air Jordan XIII. It was the pair that MJ wore during Game 2 of the series, when he scored 37 points, leading the team to a 93-88 win.

According to Sotheby's, the pair could break records for being the most expensive pair of sneakers to be auctioned. As soon as the bidding started, the pair hit $1.8 million in just a few hours. The bidding will close on April 11, and they've estimated that the bidding could reach around $4 million.

After dropping 37 pts in Game 2 of the 1998 NBA Finals, Michael Jordan gifted his ‘Bred’ Air Jordan XIII to a ball-boy.

Based on Sotheby's account, the pair currently being auctioned was the one given by Jordan to the ball boy "as thanks for finding a lost jacket" after Game 2. MJ went on to wear the pair in their future games during the finals.

Jordan Brand has become an iconic piece of fashion since its first introduction in 1985. Due to its simplicity and association with the great Michael Jordan, people haven't shown any signs of getting tired of it. We've scoured sources on which pair of Air Jordans are the most popular.

According to Esquire, Air Jordan 1s are the most popular pair, the Chicago colorway to be more specific. In the end, it was the pair that kicked things off. Its success hasn't dropped off, and it's still popular with people.

Luxe Digital has a slightly different choice of which pair is the most famous. Similar to Esquire, they also chose Air Jordan 1. But they chose the colorway that was never worn in an NBA game (only in the dunk contest of the 1985 All-Star Game), with Nike marketers advertising the shoe as "banned," also known as the "Breds."

It's clear that Jordan 1s have maintained their status as the most superior pair. The pair have a timeless design and the stylish ability to be worn by anyone on any occasion.
