Michael Jordan’s son drops emojis to Russell Westbrook’s wife’s playoff comment in anniversary post

Russell Westbrook and his wife Nina celebrated their wedding anniversary on Thursday, having tied the knot on this day in 2015. After posting about it on social media, her sarcastic response about his career got a reaction from the son of an all-time great.

At the start of his career, Westbrook had a long-term home in the NBA with the OKC Thunder. However, he's bounced around a bunch over the last five years. Westbrook's previous stops include the Washington Wizards, Houston Rockets, LA Lakers and LA Clippers.

When Russell Westbrook posted on Instagram for his anniversary, Nina left a comment with regards to all the moving the couple have undergone over the years. She wrote she's happy he likes it with the Denver Nuggets because she's done with bouncing around.

Following a brief stint with the Clippers, Westbrook was traded to the Utah Jazz this summer and waived. Upon hitting the free agent market, he made the decision to sign with the Nuggets.

Now in Denver, the former MVP will likely be the team's sixth man behind Jamal Murray. Once again on a contender, Westbrook will look to secure the NBA championship that has eluded him his entire career.

Russell Westbrook showcases explosiveness in latest offseason workout clip

Throughout his career, Russell Westbrook has been known for the intensity and passion he plays the game with. Heading into year 17, that is still the case. With about a month until the start of training camp, the former MVP has been working tirelessly in ramp-up for the 2024-25 season.

At his peak, Westbrook was arguably the most athletic point guard in the NBA. He was constantly a downhill threat in transition and was at his best playing above the rim. In a recent workout clip that surfaced, the veteran guard proved he is still capable of getting up.

In Westbrook's latest offseason clip, he was working on driving to the lane through contact. The nine-time All-Star capped things off by rattling home a dunk at the end. It's also worth mentioning that Westbrook was working out in Denver Nuggets gear.

Having lost multiple depth pieces over the last two years, Russell Westbrook should be a positive addition to the Nuggets. He might not be the superstar guard he once was, but he is still capable of being productive in the right role. Last season for the LA Clippers, he averaged 11.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists in 61 games off the bench.

For a Denver team looking to get back in the title picture, Westbrook's competitive fire should bring a much-needed presence to the locker room.
